Day 4 Of My 10-day Challenge

November 25, 2019 ~ Day 4

You would think that with time change becomes easier.  You would think, right? Day 4 is behind me finally and boy was it a challenge. I’m not sure how I did it but I set the alarm for the time of my first appointment of the day! Thank goodness I woke up prior to that (thank you angels) but it didn’t leave me with much time to prepare for the meeting I was going into.  At my doctor’s appointment there was disappointment because I was told that the sutures have to stay in a little longer.  I was hoping to celebrate not having to see doctors for the rest of this year! I contacted a friend in the area and met her for lunch at a new-to-me restaurant. I have to say it was really tempting at this point to have the more tasty fruity bowl on the menu but instead I drew strength from all the people who have been encouraging me this week. I made a healthy choice that was in line with my goal of low carbs and ordered that. It did not come out as the salad I ordered but a wrap instead. Now I had another choice. Eat the wrap (more carbs) or send it back and get what I ordered.  There was a moment of hesitancy but I did it.  The words “you can do it” kept ringing in my ear. Yes, I can do it and I keep proving it to myself in these small ways that are really big for me.

The day went on with a few more roadblocks and detours, schedule changes, etc. Electronics didn’t work correctly, posting some PR on social media hit a snag. All these things were annoying, frustrating and I found myself finally at the end of the day sitting with a notebook and staring at a blank piece of paper. I didn’t ask why. I asked what I was supposed to do with this. I knew I was not going to give up as that is not in my nature. My motto has always been “where there’s a will, there’s a way.” This was different though. This seemed more like dominoes falling and me wanting to run ahead and stop the crashing process.

I read something that Jim Carey said and it helped me in a crazy way – imagine that! He was sharing that he read a book memorializing his friend but he read it backwards and his friend was alive at the end of the story. Hmmm, my brain says it will cooperate and we can do that with this day. So going backward from all the haywire things that took place, I digressed all the way back to where my head was still on the pillow sound asleep and peaceful. It didn’t change any of the events that happened nor make me wish they had been better than what they were; it simply allowed me to go to that moment where all was well in my world. One of my mentors says we can begin again at any given moment and create our reality going forward. I did a reset in my mind and it worked. I focused on what was calm and peaceful. The other things of the day were then minute. The only important one was the one I was left thinking about. In that present moment, I felt no stress. It was just a day and now it is part of the past. I made a mental note to pay closer attention while setting my alarm!

SOMETIMES ALL YOU NEED IS TIME

tree at qwp“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

As we get caught up in dwelling on our past and/or our future, we forget that we are in constant growth inside.  We look at our physical bodies and the way they used to look compared to now and this lets us know that we are progressing in one of the many laws of the universe.  However, there are so many laws at play and many times we only focus on one or two of them.  I offer you this well-known fable today in the hopes that you will understand more about expectations, balance and hopefully realize that you matter.  We all matter in this world whether we are a fast-growing fern or a seed that is just waiting for its time to show itself to the world.

The Fable of the Fern and the Bamboo

One day I decided to give up: I quit my job, my relationship and my life. I went into the woods to talk with an elder who was said to be very wise.

“Can you give me one good reason not to quit?” I asked him. “Look around” he replied. “Do you see the fern and the bamboo?” “Yes”, I replied. “When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. The fern quickly grew. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not give up on the bamboo. In the second year the fern grew more vibrant and plentiful, and again, nothing grew from the bamboo seed. But I did not give up on the bamboo.

In the third year still nothing sprouted from the bamboo seed. But I didn’t give up on the bamboo. In the fourth year again nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I didn’t give up on the bamboo. Then in the fifth year, a tiny shoot emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern, it was seemingly small and insignificant.

But then in the sixth year, the bamboo grew to 60 feet tall. It had spent five years growing the roots to sustain it. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.

Did you know that all this time that you have been struggling, you have really been growing roots? The bamboo has a different purpose from the fern, but both are necessary and make the forest beautiful.”

May you see yourself as you are today without comparison to others.  May there be peace in your world. Please, can’t we all just get along and find our place in the sun without judgment?  I love you!

Never Quit

sailboat-at-sunset-46572“If you quit once it becomes a habit. Never quit!” Michael Jordan

One of the most successful sports figures of all time gives this sage advice that we can all use.  I have quit many times in many different areas of my life.  Every time I gave up on a dream or goal, there was a sense of something dissipating from my spirit.  I choose not to call those failures but rather redirections.  I have learned many lessons in this lifetime through these changes in direction.  I ran from some problems, trying to erase them from memory thinking that would erase them fully; but it just does not work that way.  Whether we acknowledge our experiences or not, they are part of who we are.  The only way to learn from our lessons is to embrace them, whether pleasant or unpleasant.  Many times there is so much more to learn from the valleys than from the hilltop.

I have refrained from asking why these current health problems are happening.  I did that in the past – dwelled on playing the victim only to go into rage and eventually depression which only added to the problem.  As much as I dislike when I hear someone say “it is what it is” that is the only way I can look at this now.  It is here and I have to make a choice of how I respond to it.  Yes, there is anger but not rage.  I am letting the anger motivate me, to propel me forward to a solution instead of dwelling on what is happening.  I do not choose to see myself as a victim but rather a student of life.   I am learning strength and resiliency and to never quit.  Whatever comes my way, I will not give up.  I will not go gently into that good night as one poet so eloquently shared.  I choose health, love, peace, joy, happiness for myself.  I know many people are sending healing energy my way.  Quan Yin teaches that love is what heals.  I accept and receive with gratitude all the love sent my way and fully believe I am healed.  For the last year I have been learning the best way to take care of my physical body with nutrition and I know this is helping me to heal even faster.  Today I received word from my doctor that my lab work was amazing and I only need to take one supplement for a vitamin D deficiency (and I live in the Sunshine state, LOL).

The journey this lifetime is strange in so many ways.  I have come to accept the uniqueness of it and embrace the wonder of me that fits into the big puzzle that is all of us.  We are all in this together.  We are all one. I have learned that when one hurts, we all hurt.  The level of compassion shown during this time is overwhelming. Some ask what they can do, others just do and then tell me about it (thanks Audi).  I have people at my side for doctor appointments and plans to be with me for upcoming surgeries, even taking time off work to do so!  My hand is being held all along this journey and I am so very grateful to not be facing it alone.  Many have contributed to help ease the financial burden as well and this is so greatly appreciated.  When I express gratitude, the response is “of course, you are family!”  So to those who are there holding me up through this, I love you and there are no words to express my deep gratitude – I offer only these four words “I will never quit.”

Words Are Things

photo_2018-10-24_11-28-46But words are things; and a small drop of ink, falling like dew upon a thought, produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think.  Lord Byron

To think is to create.  It is the beginning; sometimes coming as an image and other times just a sound, but creation nonetheless.  I’m sitting here today once again listening to the raindrops, to soothing meditation music playing softly in the background and finding peace in the now moment.  Eckhardt Tolle teaches us that we only have this moment we are existing in.  everything we ever experienced is wrapped up like a summary of our lives in this moment.  Lisa Nichols teaches that we needed every experience to bring us to the person we are in this very moment and I totally agree with both these powerful mentors in my life.  To live means we have experiences, both pleasant and unpleasant, and it is through those experiences that we grow into our full potential.  There is meaning in everything we do and therefore to not experience something we have a choice to engage in is to lose out on some of our potential greatness.

I have studied the great philosophers, the spiritual leaders, the modern motivational figures and what I have come to realize is that what we are seeking in our own lives draws us to these people as they put a voice to our very own thoughts.  How many times have I listened to someone speak and comment that it was exactly what I was thinking.  I have even said out loud that it is like listening to myself talk but it is someone else saying the words.

So here’s the thing – if you can think it, you can say it or write it.  Stop waiting for that superhero or special leader to show up in your life.  Be your own superhero.  The leaders are leaders because they were not afraid to speak whether vocally or in written words.  Words are things, as Lord Byron says, and you can make millions think with the words you speak.  I want to hear what you have to say!

Bucket On My Head

p02vf969There is an old sitcom called the Andy Griffith Show where Gomer Pyle is sitting by himself with a bucket on his head.  When Andy asked him why he had the bucket on his head, his reply was that he was “just thinkin” and went on to explain that he was “thinkin about how much thinkin I can do with this here bucket on my head.”  Sometimes in life we need that bucket on the head.  I find myself lately being distracted by everything and anything.  I sit down to meditate and all of a sudden a light catches my attention or a sound shakes me back to the physical.

Shutting out distractions is impossible unless one is in a soundproof room with nothing on the walls.  Unless you have a bucket, of course!  So today I am putting on the bucket.  I’m shutting out anything that will pull me away from what I need to focus on.  My journey right now is such that quiet time is necessary and much wanted.  Solitude brings perspective.  I will allow myself to be gentle with me.  I will not focus on anything other than what is my best and highest good.

I have had many responses to yesterday’s blog and I appreciate everyone who has reached out to me.  As I said before, if I do not respond it is because I am working on finishing my book which is due out in a few days and allowing myself time also for meditation and prayer.  Comments on this blog page are welcomed as I will see them when I log in to write.  This journey is an interesting one.  I ask that you not judge.  Yes, I understand what you are sharing with me and I totally believe in miracles and self-healing.  I’m on it!  If you know me at all, you know I have been taking care of myself and am up to date on nutrition, alkalizing, and everything needed for ultimate health.  I simply ask you to hold me up in prayer and send positive energy my way (including funny stuff as laughter raises the vibration) and let me do the work I need to do to heal.  I appreciate you more than you know.  I love you!

Daily Angel Message: Put Me In Coach

Greetings Beloveds. Greetings and salutations. We love your warm energy. We love your openness to hearing and exploring and receiving the daily messages from us. Today, we would love to have your attention about communication. We see the need in your world right now on your earth plane for more communication, for more openness to really share what it is that’s on your minds, on your hearts. So many are busy screaming out and blaming others and looking outside of yourself saying, what is this all about? Why can’t we have peace on earth? Why can’t we have a world where people get along with each other? Well, beloveds, we do hear you. We do hear your cries and indeed we are right there listening, encouraging, whispering in your ear to look at the inside, to look at what your part is in all of this. If you are sitting there on the sidelines saying, who’s going to help? Who’s going to save us? Are you participating in the solution or are you adding to the chaos? This is a time when all lightworkers must step up. It is time to step up to the plate and say, put me in. I’m ready to play. I’m ready to do my part instead of blaming and looking for someone outside of you to do their part.  Cooperation and communication is what’s going to bring a change in the world. You must be the change that you are wanting to see.  If you want someone to do something, then do something. If you want someone to speak words of love and encouragement, then speak them.  This is our message to you today. It may not be the message that you want to hear. It may not be that you are willing to accept that, so you must ask yourself, am I willing? Will I do my part or will I sit here on the sidelines and say, go team, go team. Go do it. You can do it. You can win.  You can go the distance. No Beloveds, sitting on the sidelines is no answer because no action is indeed an action in itself.  It is an action saying, I’m not willing to do my part.  So the time has come to ask yourself, what is my part? What is my role? Am I to be a coach? Am I to be a pitcher, a batter, a runner? What is my role? And when you find that out, when you ask that all important question and the answer pops into your head immediately – as it will if you are open to hearing it – then you will know the path you are to take you.  You will know that you are to step up to bat or you are to step on the pitcher’s mound or perhaps you are out in left field waiting to catch the ball, but whatever your role is, dear ones, whatever it may be, it is time to play the game.  It is no longer a time for planning. That time is long gone. It is no longer a time for the team huddle. That has already happened. Now is the time for you to join the team. Now is the time to cooperate, coordinate, and to do your part. Are you willing? Are you ready? Are you ready? The game has started. The crowd is there. The crowd is looking and saying, what is this game? What are we playing? What are we doing? Who do we cheer for? Will you show the way? Will you hold the torch up and let others see that here is the game right here, right now, and I’m doing my part. It is all your decision. You have the free will to sit on the sidelines if that is what you choose, but if you are sitting on the sidelines and you are not in there playing the game, the do you have a right to say who’s going to help us? Who’s going to step up and play? Who’s going to make a difference in the world? No Beloveds. If you are sitting on the sideline idly waiting, then do you see that nothing will change. You will always be just sitting there waiting for the change. Many will not like this message. Many will say, I’m not ready or it’s not up to me. It’s not my place. Why don’t those in charge do something? They’re the ones. They’re responsible. They took on the role. Well guess what? Beloveds, you all took on the role. You all came here to make a difference. You came here to do a job and no, you may not like hearing that, but it is the truth. It is what you signed up for. So what is your job? What is your role? Ask yourself.  Ask yourself and then see if you are still willing to follow through on your commitment.  We will leave you with that to ponder. And so it is.

Daily Angel Message – Carry The Torch

photo_2018-10-28_15-15-34

Beloveds, as we look at your hearts, so heavy with grief, with anger, with longing for a change to take place, we offer to you that a change is indeed coming.  It will be a hard-fought battle; however, as there is much resistance on your Earth and much division between the contrast of energies.  Who will part the waters? you ask.  Who will help us in this quest for peace?  Dear Ones, you still do not comprehend that your perceived enemy is only strong because you give away your power.  Every time you feed the fear, the anger, the cries, you are bringing the spotlight on what you do not want.  So we say to you, Dear Ones, focus on what you do want.  Allow love to permeate your very being and spread out to those who are participating in the battle of division.  You are your rescuer and yes, you are strong enough to carry the flame.  Put on your running shoes, go the extra mile and then prepare to pass the torch as you are not in this battle alone.  Bond with those who have the same goal in their hearts as this is where your strength lies.  It really does take a village and soon you will see how this all plays out when you begin to feel into this fact.  When you feel into the desires of the collective, that you really do want peace, you really do want harmony, you want the best for everyone and that, my Dear Ones, we see as your heart’s longing, as your heart’s desire.  When you reach out in your prayer times, this is what we hear and it is coming.  So be it.
